And, if the weather's clear, you will get a great view of Mt. Rainier, so you'll want to have your camera handy.

Just traveling around Woodinville and seeing how many wineries were there was amazing! Chateau Ste Michelle was a beautiful and tranquil location. Having the ability to taste flights of wine from each winery, and each wine with its different characteristics was great and helped to refine our own wine tastes. Also the ability to buy the wines that we enjoyed at a discount was even better! Some venues were quite crowded and service was a little slower than expected which delayed the tour from its planned schedule. Because the tour does small groups (we had 7 in our group), it was manageable, and our group bonded extremely well! Rudy Nieuwenhuis was our tour guide, and he was absolutely wonderful!!! He has a lot of experience in the wine industry (which he shared with us), and he knew everyone at the wineries, and they knew him so the atmosphere at each winery was wonderful. My husband and I were tapped out (we're senior citizens) by the last winery so we skipped the tasting, but Rudy took us to a winery next door that produced Chardonnay that my husband likes, and he enjoyed it and ended up buying a few bottles. Those little touches by Rudy were very impressive. In addition, he was a very good, very safe driver throughout! Of course, the best part of the tour is that you can drink to your heart's content because you don't need to drive; you get picked up and dropped off at your place of lodging! Can't get any better than that!! My husband and I totally enjoyed the tour that day (not too long, not too short), and the price was extremely reasonable, and the service great!! Would definitely do it again, and would definitely recommend it to others!!!

First time visiting Seattle and wanted to do a wine tour while visiting. I have gone to other tours back in my home state and I would say that I got better service without paying way to much after it was set and done. Driver was great at explaining the wine and the history and the wine was great but didn't need that extra cost. The cost of tour only covers them and not the wineries fee. I should have done a better research about it. At least I know for the next time.

Hi - Yes, the tour cost doesn't cover tasting fees. There are several reasons for this...First, you will never have to wonder if we will pick the wineries which best suit your tastes or the ones with the cheapest tasting fees. (We always go with the former, and as you said, the "wine was great"!) And if you buy wine, many wineries waive some or all of the tasting fee. If we paid the fee, you wouldn't get that savings benefit, we would. Lastly, by the end of the day, some people choose to skip or share a tasting, once again you wouldn't get that benefit, we would. So all in all, we think it's more fair to the customer if we don't pay the tasting fees. And that's why we put that information in both of our confirmation notices sent via the TripAdvisor/Viator App. Thank you for joining us in Washington Wine Country, we look forward to seeing you again.
