Very interesting visit where each component is scheduled to allow you to get the most out of you stay. Visitors should Be aware though that this is a working farm, not a museum.

We very much enjoyed Boone Hall but felt the highlights all fell outside the main house. The Gullah presentation was our favorite but we were also impressed with the exhibits in the various slave quarters. Of course the property is beautiful as well. We did not have time to take the tractor tour but people seemed to enjoy that as well. The house was interesting but be aware that you only tour the first floor as the family maintains the second floor for personal use.

We spent a few hours and could have spent longer if we didn't have another attraction on our agenda. The plantation has a lot of history. So glad that we were able to tour the slave houses and listen to the narratives. The house tour by John D was full of details and John was bursting with enthusiastic as he took us through. I was a little disappointed that it was only 3 rooms on the tour. I would have loved to tour the kitchen but it was not one of the rooms. I think the groups could be smaller. I was unable to really see much since we all stood around the room and hid the a lot of the decor and walls. I wished I had time to stay for the presentation of the Gullah culture but had to run.
