We spend a lot of time at this Plantation. The grounds are well kept and just gorgeous. Tours were informative. This is the best maintained plantation we have ever been to. After visiting some of the neglected and run-down Louisiana Cane River plantations and some near New Orleans...we nearly gave up on finding a truly wonderful one like this one. You have plenty of parking and are allowed to walk the grounds freely and take all the photos you want...just not inside the house. Walk out back and down to the river to see some great old oaks near the water. Don’t miss walking over to the old cotton warehouse/dock area by the river. **Note to those running the tours...there were way too many people on each house tour the day we went. You did end up crushed together, trying to see the speaker and hear/look at what was being described. You could not do either well unless you were up front right at the speaker’s side. Its difficult and uncomfortable for some people to stand for the length of the talk in each room...especially when jammed in together so close to other people. Some seating or simply a warning to those with mobility issues that you will have to stand for the entire duration of the tour with barely enough room to shift about to relieve the pain of standing in one place so still for so long would be nice. This Plantation is just superb in all other respects.

Excellent driver and outstanding guides at Boone Hall. Only issue was a rainy day-nothing anyone can do about that.

Pleasant couple of hours. Great hay/truck ride around with lots of information about the plantation and the area. Interesting tour of the big house. The presentation at the slave quarters was delightful and gave one a good understanding of the area’s slave population. Don’t miss it.
