Took the 6 PM tour on New Year's Eve. Was supposed to visit two cemeteries. However, due to road closures, we were unable to go to either of them. Instead, we mostly sat in traffic listening to stories from our tour guide. Our tour guide did an incredible job, given the circumstances. He is an excellent storyteller and told several memorable stories about the dark side of Boston. However, I do not feel he was set up very well for success due to the road closures. As an out of town visitor, I was well aware that there was a 6 PM parade, followed by 7 PM fireworks at the Boston Commons. I feel that the organizers of the tour should have done a little bit of research regarding holiday activities and then adjusted the tour accordingly. I would do this tour again because of the job our tour guide did; but I will not do this on a holiday since the organizers didn't do the necessary work upfront to determine parade routes, etc. I did not ask for a refund because of the excellent job the guide did, but I would have appreciated the opportunity to have the tour rescheduled.
