Massachusetts State House
On most weekdays (government hours only!) you have a chance to see the government at work inside the inspiring, historic, and beautiful Massachusetts State House, designed and built by famous federalist architect Charles Bulfinch in 1798. Outside the State House, take in the views of modern Boston, including the skyscrapers of Downtown, the Financial District, and the tallest building in New England: The John Hancock Tower.

Boston Public Garden
Finally, we arrive at the beautiful Boston Public Garden, one of Boston’s favorite green spaces, where you’ll see locals walking the dogs, playing with the kids, and enjoying lunch in the shade. Luci gave a jam packed history tour of Boston. I feel more connected to US history and Boston. So much fun because she showed parts of the city other tours did not. Great time seeing the statues, parks, historical cemeteries and more with in depth information galore.

We went to the location and we did not find a group. I messaged the operator through Viator and got no response. I asked other ticket booths if I was in the right place and they said yes. Went back to that spot and found no group. We waited 10 more minutes (well after the start of the tour was supposed to start) and still, no group. I messaged the operator through Viator again to inform them that no group existed and that we wanted a refund. No response. I finally got an email with screenshots of our tour guide (with NO GROUP) waiting for us. I remember seeing the guy, but he never identifies himself as our tour guide. He never shouted out that he was “the tour group.” Apparently, according to the company, 10 people canceled and we were the only ones in the group. HOW WOULD WE KNOW THAT?!! He looked like just anyone standing around by themselves! How was this, IN ANY WAY, our fault? All our other tours the leader let everyone around him know in a loud voice that he was the guide for the tour. This guy said NOTHING.

My husband and I were told we'd have a 2 hour historical walking tour, but Bob is so passionate about the history of Boston, that we continued to walk and learn for almost four hours! We've traveled all over the world and have never had a tour guide who went so above and beyond! Bob made sure to include every person and answered every question. He's a wonderful storyteller and a Boston treasure!
