We used City View Trolley for our day in Boston on May 2, a cool and misty/rainy day for touring. Our drivers were great guides, and one in particular--Tom Collins--went out of his way to be helpful to us cruise ship visitors. Not only was he a terrific and enjoyable narrator for the tour, but he delivered us back to the ship in the rain even though City View does not have an actual stop there. On that note, I would say that getting to City View from the cruise port is not the easiest thing. First of all, the map you download from their website is terrible to follow if you are coming from the cruise port. When I called City View for directions from the cruise port, the gentleman suggested taking the shuttle that the cruise line "provides" to get to their first stop. Well, that shuttle was a $45 shore excursion from our ship, and we were told it was about a 15 minute walk. It was a good 30 minute walk, and on a nice day that would be fine. Our morning was misty and 45 degrees, so not a great day for a walk. If you are using City View, I would suggest a taxi or car service to the Marriott Long Wharf to catch the trolley. However, once we got there we very much enjoyed our tour, and trolleys were frequent and always had room for riders. I would use City View again without hesitation.
