Used this Trolley Tour on a previous visit to Boston and was excited to show Boston to my girls using this service. Unfortunetly, was highly disappointed this go around. Our guide was unenthusiastic and quite frankly seemed miserable. The driver did not engage with passengers, didn't smile and sounded like a recorded script. Also we were told to make sure we hopped on a Trolley by 4:30 to avoid missing the last pickup. We ended our sightseeing at 4:00 to ensure we could get a ride. After two calls to the office, we were still waiting at 5:00, this was surprising as the trolleys were supposed to be running every 20 minutes. We finally gave up and walked back to where the tour began, with a cranky baby. I am highly disappointed as the previous time I used this company, we had a fantastic driver (John Cotton). John was engaging, funny, told stories and gave details to so many things we saw around the city (this is how it's supposed to work). We even missed the last trolley and he saw us waving him down and picked us up. My advice to CityView Trolley, get more John Cotton's. I flew across the country with my girls in hopes that they would have a similar experience as I had previously and was highly disappointed (John's day off). Honestly, the only reason I may consider this company again is because of how fantastic John was.

Our guide, Tom Collins, made the tour so memorable with a humorous narrative throughout. He not only pointed out historic places, but had a few props to illustrate the stories! Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend this company. John is an asset to this hop on-hop off way of seeing part of Boston!

My husband and I took this trolley tour of Boston as a great way to see the city and the sights without having to do a lot of walking and this tour did not disappoint. Tom Collins was a great guide, he was very informative and entertaining throughout the tour of the city. The only complaint I have about this tour was he was a bit pushy when it came to leaving tips, and if someone didn't leave him one he actually badmouthed them (this happened two to three times) to the other patrons on the trolley in an effort to shame us all into leaving a tip? I totally understand these guides make a lot of their money via tips, but that was your choice to choose this as a profession, don't shame people if they don't leave an optional gratuity. It just rubbed us the wrong way. That one complaint aside, the actual tour overall though was excellent.
