I booked the hop-on-off trolley tour because my mom has a bad leg, therefore I thought this would reduce the amount of walking while still getting to experience the different sites of Boston. Unfortunately, what I didn't know is that very few people actually get off the trolley but rather just stay on for the ride. We got off at stop #2 to see Paul Revere's house and the North Church. We then waited at stop #3 to get back on a trolley. A trolley pulls up and it is completely full. About 10 minutes later another trolley pulls up and only 2 of the people who have been waiting were able to get on. A family of 5 explained to the trolley driver that they had been waiting 30 minutes to get on a trolley. The driver said he would call for another trolley to come. Another 10 minutes pass when another trolley arrives completely packed. The family of 5 asks again and the driver with attitude responded, "It is Summer and we're busy you'll have to split up if you want to get on a trolley." He honestly expect the parents & kids to split up on their vacation. After another 10 minutes of waiting for yet another full trolley my family was lucky enough to get on. However, we didn't dare get off again for fear we would experience the same thing. Therefore, we ended up just taking a trolley ride around downtown Boston where the most we experience was the bad traffic. We expressed to our driver the need for the company to have enough trolleys circulating to keep up with the # of tickets they sell in a day, and he could care less. I couldn't believe a tourism business could care so little about the tourists supporting their business.

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced Summer is incredible busy and difficult to judge the frequency needed and we apologize for the driver who did not respond with compassion. Our business cares a great deal for our customers and unfortunately we need to look at how to best serve our patrons with accessibility concerns. Please contact us at [email protected] with any contructive ways you see we can better serve in a busy season. Thank you for educating us on the things we need to pay attention to.

I wish we had gotten on this tour earlier in the day. What a great way to get from place to place. There were several trolleys running. We sat through the whole tour and saw many parts of the city we might not have known about. Unfortunately, it was already late afternoon so we didn't get back on it. The narrator was good, lots of good history stories. I would do this again in other cities, and next time I will do this on day one and early in the morning!

Got the deal for two thru groupon ($34 for two) and we found it extremely worth it. My husband and I been to Boston for work many times, but this was our first time as tourist. Took the train to south station and walked about 1/2 hour to stop #1 to redeem the tickets. We stayed on the trolley for a full loop (took about and hour) and then stayed at the USS Constitution stop to tour the ships. Getting back on a trolley at that stop was challenging because there was a big line and it would have taken a while to ride again. We decided to walk back to the previous stop and take it from there. The stops are not marked, instead they point out the landmarks where they stop. All the drivers we had were knowledgeable, but Hugo was definitely the funniest.
