We travel a lot both in the states and abroad. We use the Hop On Hop Off type bus in every city to learn as much as we can and for the ease of getting to the important landmarks in a limited amount of time. We were so fortunate to get Uncle Steve as our tour guide. He was interactive with the passengers, funny, and had a ton of great historical information as well as fun pieces of information about Boston. I would highly recommend this trolley company in Boston. The fact that you get a 'live' person sharing his/her wealth of information and can answer questions in the moment is so much better than a recorded voice, as you pass by various landmarks, as we have experienced on the 'orange' busses. Thank you very much for a wonderful day!

We hopped on after getting of the subway to avoid the rain as well as tour historic Boston. Our driver/ tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable.

We got this via our city pass which we purchased in advance on the net, printed our A4 pages showing the barcodes (which got scanned at this location and all the other locations we visited in Boston as they have a high number of attractions to visit) thus getting a huge discount. - as we reached this location not far from the Aquarium and which is their starting point for the tour, we spoke with a very friendly manager who said that if we wanted to do the tour we would have to purchase our tickets for 17 dollars (as we wanted to start our city pass the next day and visit the attractions on those 2 days we made the payment for) - even so, I noticed that other people jumped in the trolley at the following locations and not on that day or the following day we noticed a driver to ask any of the people who were getting the bus to have been asked for their tickets or bar codes (we wondered if we really should have paid the 17 dollars per person and in whose pockets these money really went to?) - even the following day, as we took the trolley, now part of the city pass which we officially started (having purchased it for 2 days) from USS on the northern part Boston, the driver never asked us even once for our passes or tickets!!!!!????? - the drivers on both days were very friendly to us and full of info (although a bit mad on the first day, as a rather old guy with glasses kept shouting on his microphone for the whole street to hear about the bad drivers we encountered - mistakes happen and I wish I was not in the shoes of the hard working person who just finished the office hours and had the misfortune to be in the rushing hour and had a rather nice car driving home!!!!) - they dropped people at each locations and more people got on board despite only a few people having started at the location near the Aquarium (we chose to stay on the right hand side of the trolley as it had it's 'windows' open thus being able to take lots of pictures on that windy day - you stop at all these locations (although the drivers concentrate only on the British history every single time and nothing before) mentioned on their site and as seen in my picture map here - the tour takes under 2 hours and then you can decide to what location you can travel and visit it in great detail - the following day we visited some locations we already passed with the trolley, plus taking the underground and visiting Harvard (which is not included in their itinerary together with the MIT)
