This was brilliant, and a great activity if you're not in Boston for very long and want to see the sights in a nutshell!

It was 38 and raining then I hopped on the trolley in front of the Marriott Long Wharf. (I had got my ticket as one of the Go Boston card options.) I had missed a call from home, so returned it while waiting for the tour to start. A few minutes into the call I hear a “Hello. Hello. No cell phones, please. We won’t start the tour until you are off your cell phone.” I look up and see the drive turned around, looking at me and pointing to a sign in the front (I was seated towards the rear). I said goodbye, hung up and, wondering if I had missed something, looked at the brochure for the the no cell phone language. Nothing in the brochure. So I settled in and waited to learn about the sites. What I learned about instead was the driver’s life as it related to the sites. Oh, I also learned that he expected to be tipped. He made that clear by mentioning it several times. I also learned that he was a stickler for the rules. There were six people on the trolley, including me. A Chinese couple three rows ahead of me were speaking to each other and not bothering anyone. Except, apparently the driver, as he turned around and told them they were not allowed to speak in loud voices (apparently lest if prevent the other four of us from hearing his stories and requests for tips.) I got off before the end, as I chose to walk in the rain rather than listen to this guy and more.

we had a great time viewing old town with the cityview tours. we liked the hop-on/hop-off concept. would recommend this again.
