I got a Groupon for CityView Trolley Tours. I read the reviews and they were really mixed, so I kept my expectations in check. I can absolutely say the drivers were friendly and informative. They explained everything about how the trolleys ran and were great at pointing out points of interest along the way. Never waited more than 15 minutes-which was great because Boston was breaking all kinds of freezing weather records while we were there. Would absolutely recommend!

I'm not a fan of the driver acting as the tour guide. It's unnerving that the person driving the bus is talking over his shoulder and distracted in city traffic. And if that wasn't bad enough our driver kept repeating dozens of times that Boston was built on filled-in land. Saying that once would have been enough...we got it!

They offer a free harbor cruise from May to October with purchase of every full price ticket. However as we had 2 small kids with us, who were not in their best mood, we didn't take the cruise.The rest of the trip was quite fun and enjoyable. The tour has only 9 stops, but there is quite a lot to see at each stop. The Bunker Hill monument is a fair distance from the drop off/pick up stop- so plan accordingly.
