Started the day planning to do the walking tour on the Freedom Trail bit were a bit put off as we listening to a girl leading the tour, then realised later she would be the one leading ours. So, as a previous reviewer said, why not buy a $3 map and do it ourselves. In the end that looked a very long walk and we needed an overview so we opted for this hop on, hop off tour. The first guide was a woman in her forties or fifties, she seemed a bit indifferent saying things like 'Boston had the first school in the country, the Latin School but I have no idea where it is'. Not a good start. At the the waterfront we got off, had a walk around and rejoined another bus, a man in his fifties, I don't know his name but he was great, very amusing and knowledgeable. On these buses the driver is the commentator, not sure if that is a brilliant idea but it keeps costs down and at $16 whithout the harbour tour this was well worth it.

I enjoy doing the hop on hop off type tours when I go to various cities on vacation. This CityView tour was also great. The drivers give great commentary and also take you the great places to see in the city. I learn much more with the driver then when I just tour on my own. The drivers also were very free in giving directions when getting off the trolly and advise for the best of your time when off the tour. This tour is especially a great way to see the sights on the north end of the Freedom Trail such as the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill, and Paul Revere's house. If you don't have tickets from the internet they have booths set up all over by the harbor and the Quincy Market. I purchased the ticket that also had the Harbor Cruise. This was also worth doing but very crowded. So get to the harbor at least half an hour early. Great tour!

After taking the time to book this tour via phone to cross-reference with 2 other couples taking tour, we arrive to find we are on a totally different trolley co. Very disappointing and waste of money!
