This was our first time in Boston so we wanted to see the sights! However, my husband was competing in the Boston Marathon, so we wanted to limit his time on his feet the day before the race. This was a great option to see the city and get the history behind the things we saw without a ton of walking. We only made one stop to see Ironsides, but the rest of the tour we decided to stay on the bus. We were really glad we did this tour!

We did the city view trolley tours today. We got on the very first trolley and were greeted with funny jokes by Tom Collins. He was more than enthusiastic the whole tour and extremely knowledgable! After our trip around completely we rode a few more trolleys doing the hop on and off, but even though the guides were great none of them beat Tom! We truly enjoyed our trip. Oh, and ask him how to spell Mississippi with one "i".

We had three different guides...not because we were hopping on and off, but rather we kept reaching a point where we were told that if you wanted to continue, you had to switch trolleys. One guide was FANTASTIC...knowledgeable and very funny! Obviously a native Bostonian, proud of his city! The other two were just okay, pretty boring, not as though they had any real passion for the history of Boston. My big issue was the hop on and off feature. I was under the impression that the stops would be in front of a major site, mostly along the Freedom Trail, and that you could get off, see those sites and then hop back on and go to the next stop and do the same. We got off exactly once, immediately got turned around because we were just at a bus stop in Boston, and would have had no idea where to go had their not been an outdoor performer in the front of Quincy Market so we could follow the sound to get there! When we were ready to get back on the trolley, we walked back to where we were dropped off, only to find there was no Trolley Stop sign, so we ended up walking several blocks in either direction, assuming we weren't in the right place, only to watch from a block away as our trolley came and left from that unmarked location! When we finally got back on, we were too nervous about getting lost in Boston to get back off again, so we took it back to where we started and were done with it.
