What To Expect
1
Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park
Your North End experience begins at the lifeblood of Boston, the Boston Harbor. Walk through a scenic waterfront park, with views of the harbor, East Boston and the historic wharfs lining Atlantic Ave. We’ll make our way to the heart of the North End, with views of some of the most historic sites and properties in the neighborhood, some dating back to the late 1600s and early 1700s.
2
North End
Delicious food is never far away in the North End. Your guide will introduce you to a small, hidden Italian bakery serving up fresh bread daily. Break bread with your fellow travelers and let the carbs give you the energy to continue your adventure! A proper Italian salumeria is next, and you’ll have a chance to enjoy Italian meats and cheeses at their finest and freshest. Next up, we’ll take in the energy of the North End’s busiest corridor, Hanover Street, where it’s time for a mid-tour break with your guide at a traditional Italian café. Here, if you like, you can purchase and enjoy your choice of a classic cappuccino, espresso or tea or just take a minute off your feet.
3
Old North Church & Historic Site
As you let the caffeine kick in, your guide goes back in time into North End history. Hear stories about some of the most influential events that happened in Boston, including Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride. We make our way to the Old North Church, where we may get to step inside the hallowed walls.

A few years back we started making food tours part of our visits to new cities. We find them an effective and fun way to get to know the lay of the land, a bit of history and some fun places to eat, drink and be merry. Finally we got a chance to enjoy one in our own hometown of Boston. Although the food wasn't as hearty and some we'd been on, the early-in-the-day start time may have been a factor in the menu. (Prosciutto bread, Italian sub, pizza, dessert, along with a capuccino/coffee drink). Our guide Conner was knowledgable, friendly and engaging. He knew his stuff deeply enough to keep both us 'locals' and out-of-town visitors new to the city equally entertained. While we wouldn't rank this tour tops among those we've been fortunate to enjoy, we give both Conner and the tour top marks--and *extra credit* to Conner for guiding our gaggle through the busy North End streets right in the middle of the 100th Festival of St. Anthony! We'll be back.

Our guides are all local so they know the North End very well. Conner's enthusiasm for the history of this area is what makes his tours so engaging. I invite you to come back and take our History & Highlights tour which takes you through downtown Boston and up to Beacon Hill. For locals who have toured these areas, usually as children, its great to come back and see these historic ;landmarks through a different lense.

Bob was an outstanding tour guide- his knowledge of the history of events that occurred in the North End was very much appreciated by our group- “this has been the best food tour that I’ve ever taken.” And this was compared to food tours in Manhattan! Food was very good and restaurants that participated were NOT the typical tourist spots. Would highly recommend this tour- request Bob.
