We take food tours whenever and wherever we travel. This food tour rates with the best of them. Thanks Chris for a fun time! I have to say my favorite was the Union Oyster House where we sampled clam chowder and corn bread, so good! This restaurant was established in 1826 and is a treasure trove of history.
Next, we walked over to the Boston Public Market where we met Peaches at Q’s nuts. We tried several different flavored nuts, my favorite, the maple bourbon pecans. I really enjoyed this too. We moved on to lobster rolls from Red’s Best Seafood. I don’t eat a lot of lobster but found it to be very tasty with a splash of lemon. What is Boston without baked beans? We did sample baked beans, prepared in a way I’ve never had them. They had an unusual but good flavor, in part due to a certain spice. Try them and see if you can guess what it is.
We made our way over to little Italy, so cute with the historical old buildings, narrow lanes and colorful store fronts. We tasted Cheese Pizza from Regina’s Pizza. This place was hopping. I found the pizza to be average, nothing special. Maybe, it’s time to try a new place in little Italy?!
We finished off our tour with cannoli from Modern Pastry. This was good, not too sweet. I will have to try cannoli from Mike’s Pastry to see which one I like better. A little competition here, it’s all good.
I would recommend this food tour. Chris definitely knows his food and did a great job talking about the various things we tried. Keep in mind that you are sampling food not getting a meal portion at each place. It was more than enough for me!
Thank you, Chris!
