We absolutely loved our Secret Food Tour in Boston. The Boston Food Tour allowed us to taste some incredible food that we probably would not have discovered on our own. A perfect example is the pumpkin ravioli. We would have never ordered this on our own, but we absolutely loved this dish! That is only the beginning though. The tour has you eating so much delicious food. In addition, you also learn some of the great history associated with Boston and specifically, the North End neighborhood. Our guide, Caleb, was kind, funny, and knowledgeable. He really took the time to ensure that everyone had a great experience during our time together. Do take note that you will eat A LOT OF FOOD on this tour, so be sure to pace yourself. The food portions really add up quickly, and you will find yourself stuffed before you know it! We LOVE Secret Food Tours! This is our third tour to take with them. We also participated in their tours in Dublin, Ireland, and Rome, Italy. We will continue to use them any chance we get! They are a fabulous company!

I picked this tour because of the great reviews; however, we got a guide who had only ever given 1 tour before. He was 10 minutes late to meet the group (with no communication sent), looked disheveled, and was clearly inexperienced with leading a group. It was hard to hear most of the information and the flow was very odd--guide did not have good mastery of how to lead a group or stay on time. There was a LOT of food included--we were stuffed by the end. You can tell the intention is to give history + food, but the experience will vary greatly between different guides. Clearly they do not give much training before letting people be a guide.
