Overview

This is the only tour in New York City that lets guests experience and taste hundreds of years of New York City's history. Not only do we tell the story of the immigrants in New York, we taste their iconic foods that they brought to the City from their home country's. What starts out eating the distinct foods of different cultures crescendos into tasting New York's unique cuisine.

We can accommodate vegetarians, but please reach out for other food preferences. We'll do our best to accommodate everyone.

You'll eat FIVE of New York's most iconic foods at the best places in the Lower East Side. As you eat, you'll experience how immigrants and their food started as separate groups, but came together to become New Yorkers... and New York cuisine!

Had an absolutely amazing time on this tour with Scott! The food was so diverse and delicious, and it was so fun hearing about the history behind all of the food! Scott went above and beyond to make this tour memorable, and it was absolutely amazing!

I’m a born and bred New Yorker, now on the west coast. I took this food tour while visiting family with my young teens. My brother and his girlfriend who still live in NY joined us. It was super fun walking around the Lower East Side, teaching my kids about the history of my beloved city, and learning a bunch myself! And we got to sample some delicious food along the way. Scott, our tour guide, was super enthusiastic and welcoming. He was gracious with our super chatty kids and answered lots of questions. He was very flexible and kind. Would highly recommend this tour!

We did the Iconic Foods of New York tour. I was there with my husband and 13 year-old grandson. We absolutely loved this tour. What I loved most about it was that we got a mini history of New York through food. The tour took place in Lower Manhattan where most of the immigrants settled. We learned about the Dutch immigrants, Jewish immigrants, Italian, Chinese, Irish, etc. We learned how the foods were brought over from these various countries and how they evolved over time to what we know today as iconic New York foods. Scott was a fantastic, enthusiastic storyteller. He was a joy to be with. I highly recommend.
