Our new favorite thing to do on trips is food tours. It is a great way to get some history as well as learn where are some great places to eat! This was such a fun tour. Gabe was awesome From the start. He was funny, knowledgeable and had so many recommendations of where to not only eat but site see! We did the 3pm tour. It was a great way to see the area and as much as we are we made it our dinner. If you want something fun to do in your first couple of days book this! We had couples and singles on the tour and I noticed everyone having a great time.

I have done this tour twice and loved it, and was looking forward to taking a group of friends. I must give a poor review because of the management company. I have now had two BAD experiences out of three with last minute tour cancellations less than 2 hours prior to tour time. One of the two was last week. My party of 8 showed up for our private tour and no guide showed up. I checked my emails and Secret Tours had cancelled less than two hours prior to the tour. I wasn’t surprised something like that would happen because the process of communicating about a private tour was laborious, even though we got a reminder email the day before. It took well over 20 emails over the course of weeks to line the private tour up. They would take several days to respond to my questions, and it was different people responding so there was some repetition of information. After we got confirmation on the agreed tour stops on the private tour, we were sent confirmation tickets for a GROUP tour, so I asked about that, and was reassured we had a private. Then the day before the tour, we were sent tickets and a confirmation email, again for a GROUP TOUR. We showed up anyway ready for a private or group tour. Bust. The second last minute cancellation was just over a year ago. My husband and I were visiting Boston for the first time and showed up for our Secret Food group tour and eventually found our confused guide with two trainees. Like us, they didn't see the email we had been sent 2 hours prior to the tour informing us the tour was cancelled. There were no other tourists, so we assumed the cancellation was because there weren’t enough people. The guide graciously took us on the tour anyway, since we had proof we had paid and had missed the last minute cancellation, and he could train the new guys. We had a great time. In between these two bad experiences, I took a friend on the group tour and we did not have any problems. The food was wonderful and it was a great way to see historical sites and learn a lot about Boston, but Secret Tours can’t be counted on.

Hi, thank you for submitting your feedback. Every day we read our guest's feedback, which is 99% of the times 5-star reviews, and that 1% are the ones we have to really work on because we want to win you back. Firstly, I have to highlight that our mission is to deliver excellent Food Tours, and we do that all around the world, and I am happy to know that you loved it. It's no secret that behind a great food tour, there's a lot of back-office work every day that involves a lot of people in a growing company like ours. We know by experience that private bookings require more concerns both on the guest side and on our end, our support team was making an effort to customize your experience. We are sorry it took longer than you expected. About the cancellations, we try at all costs to avoid cancellations, which is not something we are totally in control of, if for example, in this case, a guide has covid. We have a senior small team in Boston and there was no replacement. We had two guides with a positive tests and we let you know as soon as we could. Unfortunately, this happened twice. And we are very sorry about that. With the weather getting colder in Boston, Covid has been spiking. We will make sure we can deliver better procedures so we can avoid this kind of comment in the future. Your remarks will help us grow. We would love to have you back. Can you please email us at [email protected] so we can further discuss this matter? Thank you
