Could resist the title....but such a great afternoon. I took my 20-something daughter whale watching as a late birthday present. Since some friends said they saw only a few whales on their trip, we were not expecting to see many whales. We saw several of 4 or 5 different types of whales; the Aquarium staff knew each by name based on their flukes. The expert commentary about the whales, their habitat, the sanctuary by the Aquarium staff was an added bonus. The captain did a great job of turning the boat so everyone on board could see the whales. The day was so beautiful that we chose to ride out and back on the bow of the catamaran which put us in a perfect place to see whales.

We booked our tickets in advance for this whale watching trip. We were unsure if we would see any whales as it’s nearing the end of the season. How wrong could we be?! We saw 7 humpback whales and countless dolphins. It really was an amazing experience. The expert commentary was really good. A high speed catamaran got us out to the Stellwagen Marine Sanctuary in just an hour. I think it was with great care and patience that the captain tracked the dolphins, and we were rewarded with lots of tail fin waves and fin slapping - it really was sublime. For around $40 per person we thought this was money well spent. Snacks on board & plenty of room - wrap up warm!
