We worked our entire day around this experience only to find out upon arrival that it was cancelled. We booked through TripAdvisor and the company told us that someone should have called us and we will need to deal with them for a refund due to rough seas. I get it. I’m sure the conditions affect them often and I understand. It’s the lack of notice or care that bites. I’ve tried to reach out to TripAdvisor and I’ve heard nothing nor do I have a refund. The whale watching was supposed to be 6 days ago and I’ve heard nothing from anyone. Bummer and a pain to get a refund...

Hi David H and thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear of your disappointment with the cancellation of your whale watch. Sometimes weather cancellations happen very close to departure time. We do immediately post a cancellation message on our website and email to all passengers who purchased through BHC directly but often don't have the email addresses of those who purchased their tickets through third party vendors. I hope that you have received your refund by now but if you haven't or if you'd like to discuss further, please contact [email protected] and we will help you with the process and see what we can do to make it up to you. We are very sorry for your inconvenience and disappointment and hope you will be able to join us for a future whale watch on a much better weather day.

It was Oct 8, 2019 @12pm. I wore jeans, tank top, flannel shirt, scarf, heavy sweatshirt and a windbreaker. I sat out front for the hour going out to the destination point. Yes! I was freezing. Went in, bought a hot tea n pretzel. Ate inside, then went back out with my tea, as I already missed seeing the dolphins unfortunately. But, it was above my expectations to actually see Humpback Whales!!! Including the two dolphins, “we” saw 10 whales n dolphins. Stupid tea! I wholeheartedly recommend this cruise. You won’t be disappointed. Dress for the occasion!! Hat, gloves, heavy coat, scarf...just dress for winter and sit up front. It’s so much fun. What do the sailors call it? The “helm”. The naturalist who narrated the trip was excellent. I’ll do it again if and when I return to Boston. The two humpback whales names that were the most entertaining we’re, Quote & Tripod. ☺️

Great operation. Whale watching is tricky because the whales are always on the move. They had not done trips for 2 days as there were high seas, so there were no reports on where the whales were. We saw about 15-20 different whales on our trip including a humpback mother and calf. The crew was great. they explained that the seas would be a little rough and that dramamine was a good idea if you were not sure about sea sickness. a bunch of people on the opper deck did get sick and the crew helped them down and even carried one families baby and stroller from the upper deck.
