Thoroughly enjoyed our tours- a great way to learn about local KY and bourbon history and get a great view of the KY River and wildlife. The lock tour is interesting. Owners are great- friendly, full of good info/recommendations. This tour is good for all ages- kids as well as seniors. Depending on when you go, it can get a bit hot (sunscreen/hats are good) and definitely bring a rain jacket if rain is in the forecast.

My husband and I live in Frankfort, but my parents were in town so we signed up to go. We’d wanted to have something to do. We’ve done several outings with Canoe Kentucky, that’s who runs these tours, and we are never disappointed. We learned a lot more history about our area and had a beautiful boat ride too! Captain Nathan was amazing. He was easy to hear, answered all our questions, and had KY’s own Ale8 on board to serve us!

This is a fun, informative way to get an overview of the city and history of bourbon. We did the boat tour first- professional and friendly from start to finish- and then the basic tour at Buffalo Trace. Even followed Nathan’s rec for riverfront lunch. If we travel back to Louisville, we will be sure to take another boat tour.
