Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront Guided Bike Tour

Overview
We'll see Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Bridge Park and the DUMBO warehouse district. After a quick tour of City Hall area, we roll over the Brooklyn Bridge with stops for the perfect photo ops of the gorgeous Wall Street skyline. While there, I'll share historical insights into the twin icons of New York City's East River: the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. We'll continue on to the charming brownstone streets of Brooklyn. After a stop at the beautiful Promenade, we'll zip through NYC's newest, most innovative and beautiful 85-acre waterfront playground, the Brooklyn Bridge Park (just opened in 2010). There will be stops and photo ops galore in the shabby-chic shipping and warehouse districts of DUMBO, Vinegar Hill and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. You’ll get a peek into the history of Brooklyn’s shipping industry that once thrived on these docks and cobblestone streets.

What To Expect
1
City Hall Park
Historic park where General George Washington read the Declaration of Independence, surrounded by City Hall, Municipal Building, Tweed Courthouse, the Woolworth Building and other icons of the city.
2
Brooklyn Bridge
John Augustus Roebling's masterpiece combines engineering and art. We'll ride over with lots of stops for pictures of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines.
3
Brooklyn Heights
Brooklyn Heights is where we'll find elegant 19th century brownstones on quiet, tree lined streets. See why Matt Damon, Paul Giamatti and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski made this neighborhood their home.
4
Brooklyn Heights Promenade
The Promenade of Brooklyn Heights is bar none, the best place in New York City to appreciate the soaring skyline of Wall Street's towers. We'll stop here.
5
Brooklyn Bridge Park
NYC's newest park sits beneath the bridge. Opened in 2010, and still just getting finished up, this 85 acre park is a post-industrial repurposing of six abandoned commercial shipping piers.
6
Dumbo
DUMBO was once a bustling hub of shipping and industry with many 19th century warehouses. It has been reborn today as a glamourous neighborhood that is at once both glitzy and gritty.
7
Manhattan Bridge
We'll head back to Manhattan Bridge, affording us bird's eye views of north Brooklyn, Queens and the East River.
8
John V. Lindsay East River Park
We'll return to the shop via the East River Park and swing through parts of Chinatown and the historic South Street Seaport.

Perfect way to experience a bit of Brooklyn for the first time. Bicycling was easy and such a great way to cover ground and get the most bang within a two hour period. Scott is very knowledgeable about the area and its history; and he took us on a very scenic route. This was one of the highlights of our visit to NYC. I’d highly recommend this tour if you’re new to this area.

This tour was a lot of fun but crossing the Brooklyn Bridge by bike was a bit nerve wracking! The bike lanes are narrow and non-tourists go speeding by on e-bikes, e-scooters and even mini-motorcycles, so you really can't look around and enjoy the view. The tour of Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO was good.

The cycling tour started in Manhattan and looped around Brooklyn. Scott is very knowledgeable of the area especially Brooklyn, making the trip educational as well as great cycling. Scott knew the ideal routes that got us to great areas of Brooklyn and the waterfront, and most of the route was on established bike paths. Riding round trip across the Brooklyn bridge was amazing, with beautiful views in both directions. Love that the ride across was on a dedicated bike path.
