The Brooklyn Navy Yard can be reached by bus, on foot, by bicycle, and via the NYC public ferry system. The NYC ferries and city buses are accessible to people who use wheelchairs and strollers. Take the Astoria line ferry from East 34th Street or Pier 11/Wall Street in Manhattan to the Brooklyn Navy Yard ferry stop. Please plan your trip to the Yard in advance to ensure an early arrival.

We went on this tour after learning about it due to its affiliation with Archtober. It was probably our favorite of all the activities we did that weekend - both the history and current development of the property were fascinating to learn about. Doug was a most excellent and knowledgeable guide. We were two of only three people from outside the NYC area on our tour - the rest were “locals” interested in learning more about their own city, which was cool - most people we talked to weren’t aware of the tours or really the history of the Yard. Highly recommend!

We had a custom tour of the Navy Yard. Andrew has an encyclopedic knowledge and could answer expert way all of our questions. He makes the tour very interesting without overwhelming you with information. Get us into many places you could not go as an individual. He is able to adjust the tour do your specific and Chris with ease. This is our third tour with turnstile. The Brooklyn army terminal tour and the Navy Yard industrial tour are both very interesting. Will be back for another on next visit to NYC!
