An interesting blend of old stories and new designs of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Exploring the rich history of the Brooklyn Navy Yard with an enriching look toward the future of the Navy Yard. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and really good with incorporating guest's questions into the presentation.

First of all, I can not imagine anyone better than Doug to do our tour. He was very smart, articulate, personable and knowledgable. I didn't even have trouble hearing him, which I do sometimes during these tours. We came to the tour as a group of 10 wanting to learn more about our father/grandfather, who worked there for 20 years and had passed 7 years prior. Doug went through the archives, ahead of time, listened to the narrative that grandpa had recorded and had it with him to play for us during certain times on our tour. It was wonderful hearing his voice and made the tour even more special. After this tour, some of us are talking about taking the food truck tour or the Prospect Park tour. Either way, you can't go wrong with this company. Thank you for making our day special.

My husband and I did the 2 hour Brooklyn Navy Yard tour with Andrew and very much enjoyed it. Andrew, our guide, was engaging and knowledgeable and provided both overall historical context as well as interesting stories about the history of the Yard. We really enjoyed seeing views of Brooklyn and Manhattan from Wallabout Bay. As a born and bred New Yorker, I loved getting a new perspective (literally and figuratively) on my city and hearing history that I didn't know. I highly recommend reading Jennifer Egan's Manhattan Beach in tandem with your visit to the Navy Yard to get even more of the flavor of what it must have been like during the second world war. It's also exciting to see how the city is preserving manufacturing and spaces for artisans and artists. All is not lost to high-end real estate development!
