Scott was a wonderful guide on the tour. Selections were tasty, cocktails were very good (Meze was the star of the show in our opinion)... felt pretty safe until walking back to the hotel at night. Once we got slightly outside the gas lamp district things got a little dicey. That's not on the tour, that's on the City... but it was very enjoyable overall.

Thank you for your feedback! We agree that the Downtown area can feel a little dicey at times, but the city does what they can to keep people safe. We haven't heard of incidents on our tours, and our guides are familiar with the area, and can help navigate you back to your hotels.

We have been on many of these types of tours in many other cities so we were excited to go on the this tour through the Gas Lamp area in San Diego. First of all, we had 14 people in our group and our tour guide, Scott, did not do a good job of managing that large of a group. I couldn’t hear half of the stuff he was saying and he spoke in a monotone voice. The stops were just ok with the first one being a Greek fusion restaurant that served a quesadilla and a super sugary sangria. Not good. Then we were off to a beer garden that served us a beer and fried cauliflower with some sweet jelly stuff on top. Also not good. And then my favorite stop was Madam Bonnie’s, where we were served a slider along with a bourbon liqueur shot and some lame history lesson by Scott. The last stop consisted of an ice cream place right next door to Madam Bonnie’s but the line was 20+ people deep so we didn’t wait and returned back to the bar for a drink. This tour was mediocre at best. Scott is not a great tour guide.

Thank you for the honest review. The Gaslamp Quarter is such an interesting area to tour, and has fascinating stories, and it's a shame that you couldn't hear Scott. The area can get busy and loud, but our guides should be able to manage a group of up to 15 guests. We will be addressing these concerns with him as well as follow up with the restaurants, because we typically get great reviews from those stops. Thanks again for the feedback, as it helps us improve our product.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun! The food tasting was more than expected and definitely filled us up. Loved that you could purchase more drinks or food at each location. The experience was one I would recommend for anyone visiting San Diego!
