With more than 150 bars and restaurants and 94 registered historic buildings, this nightlife playground has a lot to see and do, as well as a fascinating past. The Brothels, Bites and Booze tour will introduce you to the beginnings of San Diego as a port town – learn why it became one of the more notorious red light districts of its time, and find out how this once-undesired neighborhood became a fun and vibrant nightlife destination for both locals and visitors. After meeting your guide, you’ll embark on a journey of scandalous tales, unique cocktails and local cuisine. On the tour, you’ll make new friends, hear interesting stories, sing karaoke and explore new tastes at local restaurants*.

Overall, fun, learned some interesting history. Food & drink at 1st place (Meze) very good, but rest was unremarkable - just an ordinary bar serving fried cauliflower with jarred sweet-hot chili sauce and 3 ounce beer sample; Dive taco place with mediocre fried fish tacos and local beer - either IPA or not, and nothing special. Last stop was ice cream shop - no ice cream is bad, but this was nothing special. While we enjoyed, not sure worth $75, but we did like it. Stephone (sp?), our guide, was hard-working, high-energy. Tours are always a gamble - depend on who else goes. In this case we had a group of 5 that was a bit odd, and kind of made it less enjoyable.

Thanks for joining the tour, and for providing feedback. I'm sorry you didn't mesh well with the other guests on tour. As for the food selection, I've made a note to revisit our selections and stops, and we are currently working to add more variety.

We were celebrating a birthday along with another group so that made this afternoon especially fun. The tour was interesting but I think the food was better! The pace is relaxed so there is plenty of time to look around and enjoy San Diego's weather. Kirk did a great job having things ready as we arrived so we didn't stand around too much.

What a fun day! Kirk was so knowledgeable and kept the group entertained. Each food stop was delicious, and accommodating. We had a great group with 13 people and I can guarantee everyone had a wonderful day!
