The Brothels, Bites and Booze tour will introduce you to the beginnings of San Diego as a port town – learn why it became one of the more notorious red light districts of its time, and find out how this once-undesired neighborhood became a fun and vibrant nightlife destination for both locals and visitors. Tour guide made it a fun night out. Friday night tour was group of 15. Good opportunity to meet people. Three restaurant stops, each include a shot and small appetizer. Last stop is a dessert place. Spend about 20 minutes at each place. Good history lesson of SD early years.

Amanda was our tour guide for our BBB tour on October 3, 2019. She was very knowledgeable & focused on key elements of history, architecture & historical personalities. I enjoyed the tour and appreciated her attention to key facts and details. She was very engaging with the 4 tour participants. Restaurant selection was good. Meze had the best food & good ambiance. Irish pub food was not good, but ambiance was fun. Walking pace was good; side walk lighting was problematic. We were fortunate that the group size was small (4). Street noise, 5th Avenue music from company street party was very loud & distracting. Amanda's voice level made it difficult to hear her commentary.

Thank you for joining us on tour. I'm happy to find that Amanda was a pleasant tour guide. I'm sorry you didn't like the food at the pub. It's usually a favorite. Very rarely are there full block buy outs for street parties, but when there are, they do tend to take over the whole area. I'm sorry that landed on the night of your tour, but it's impossible for us to avoid them. Thanks again for the feedback, and we will address your concerns for future tours. -Bianca
