Stefan was a great guide on our tour. He was very knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. We even got to meet his dad celebrating a birthday!! Now the less than 5 star experience. The food at 1 stop was good, a Greek restaurant with a 1/2 sized taco that tasted good. Then it started sliding down from there. 2nd stop was a Mexican restaurant wIth a 1/2 sized tostada. It was so-so. 3rd stop was an Irish restaurant with Shepherds pie probably no more than 2 spoonfuls of food. There was no taste to the food. 4th stop was a pastry shop where we chose 2 macaroons. They tasted good. I’m not a drinker so I cannot comment on the adult beverages but I had our staff of 9ppl and they said the drinks were very watered down. I’ve been on other food tours and the food was more plentiful and tastier. Do it if you want entertainment & history of the area because Stefan did a great job but get something to eat before so you don’t need to go to a restaurant after the tour like we did.

This was the first tour during our trip to San Diego that we (traveling friends, three couples) and we were not disappointed. This tour met at 5pm and walked around a number of blocks within the Gaslamp District...easy slow pace so no strenuous activity here. Our guide was a local gentleman who also did stand up comedy so he was lively in his presentation. We passed by perhaps a dozen of so buildings during the walk which were pointed out having past “history” during the hey day of the gold rush through the twenties and thirties...different architecture so we were not see building of all one type. Along the way we stopped for leisurely visits to a number of pub/bars/restaurants for a sampling of appetizer sized food and an accompanying adult beverage finishing at our final stop of the evening for a small dessert. Did not feel rushed at all, food and drink hit the spot and our guide was informative without being overly instructive. About a three hour tour that was enjoyable and recommended.
