Overview

Enjoy the beauty and excitement of Browns Canyon National Monument on a half day whitewater rafting tour down the Arkansas River. Your guide will go over safety procedures, paddling techniques and tell you about the area’s unique history, flora and fauna. This tour departs directly from the River Runners Browns Canyon outpost, a riverside property just south of Buena Vista, Colorado. Transportation is provided from the take-out at Hecla Junction back to River Runners. All gear is included in the price of the trip. Choose from 10 am and 2 pm departure times (check-in is 45 minutes prior).

Ash was our guide and was great! She’s very knowledgeable. They provide wet booties, wet suits, jackets, helmets and vests as a courtesy. Wonderful experience!

We’ve rafted the Blue River in Summit County and the Snake River near Jackson, WY but this was by far our favorite! Eric was our guide and was THE BEST! He was so calm and was very knowledgeable of every detail of the river. We want to come back next year and do Numbers with him! The River Runners location was conveniently at the spot where we launched which was a huge plus. The pictures turned out great, too! The only thing lacking was more private or curtained changing areas, as everyone was trying to change at once in a 2 stall bathroom, but that wouldn’t keep us from coming back again. Thanks for a great experience!
