Overview

Enjoy the beauty and excitement of Browns Canyon National Monument on a half day whitewater rafting tour down the Arkansas River. Your guide will go over safety procedures, paddling techniques and tell you about the area’s unique history, flora and fauna. This tour departs directly from the River Runners Browns Canyon outpost, a riverside property just south of Buena Vista, Colorado. Transportation is provided from the take-out at Hecla Junction back to River Runners. All gear is included in the price of the trip. Choose from 10 am and 2 pm departure times (check-in is 45 minutes prior).

There are inherent risks with whitewater rafting. All participants must assume that risk. Everyone will need to read and sign a waiver/release form. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on the form.

River Runners was recommended to us by a friend who was formerly a guide. We were very impressed with the experience of their guides and friendliness of their staff. Our guide had been working the river for a long time, and knew exactly where to have us paddle to avoid flipping over. We even picked up some kayakers who were stuck in spots along the river. The ride back up to the outpost was short and comfortable. There is a nice outdoor spot to get some great food and drinks after your trip. I highly recommend River Runners. Your family will love it!

My husband and I had a great experience with this operator. Our guide was excellent. He knew exactly how to give instructions so we could have fun AND not get stuck. The establishment is clean and you get into your raft right at their shop.

I came here on a school trip and had a blast. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our tour guide was Daniel. He was nice, funny, and did an awesome job of making sure we all knew what we were doing and more importantly had fun. If it were possible I would give it more than 5 out of 5 stars.
