Overview

Enjoy the beauty and excitement of Browns Canyon National Monument on a half day whitewater rafting tour down the Arkansas River. Your guide will go over safety procedures, paddling techniques and tell you about the area’s unique history, flora and fauna. This tour departs directly from the River Runners Browns Canyon outpost, a riverside property just south of Buena Vista, Colorado. Transportation is provided from the take-out at Hecla Junction back to River Runners. All gear is included in the price of the trip. Choose from 10 am and 2 pm departure times (check-in is 45 minutes prior).

There are inherent risks with whitewater rafting. All participants must assume that risk. Everyone will need to read and sign a waiver/release form. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on the form.

Beautiful views, excellent rapids, and our guide Erik was fantastic. We had a super time as a family. Next year we will definitely be back. The class 3 rapids were so fun!!

We had a blast!! Lots of fun and Dillion our guide was great. He had loads of information and worked to engage our whole group in the conversation. We are ready to come back for the next level rafting trip. This was a highlight of our whole trip to Colorado.

So much fun!! We had Quinn as our guide and she was fantastic. We were the only raft that didn't have someone fall out of the raft or get stuck on the rocks. The best part was the toilet flush rapid... perfectly named and looked scary as hell, but Quinn kept her calm in giving us paddling instructions and no problems! We are in our 50's and a single mom with her 2 pre-teen boys were also with us. So, good for all ages. I would definitely recommend wearing a wet suit - the water was sooo cold!! Highly recommend to anyone visiting this area!!
