Overview

Enjoy the beauty and excitement of Browns Canyon National Monument on a half day whitewater rafting tour down the Arkansas River. Your guide will go over safety procedures, paddling techniques and tell you about the area’s unique history, flora and fauna. This tour departs directly from the River Runners Browns Canyon outpost, a riverside property just south of Buena Vista, Colorado. Transportation is provided from the take-out at Hecla Junction back to River Runners. All gear is included in the price of the trip. Choose from 10 am and 2 pm departure times (check-in is 45 minutes prior).

Amazing experience from start to finish. Our guide Sergio was welcoming, clear and concise with instructions. He has 35 years experience in guiding and it showed. We were lucky enough to be the only 2 guests in our boat so we got a personalised rafting experience. The numbers rapids were great fun, challenging but totally worth it. The whole vibe of the company is welcoming- the driver Crash and his dogs were lovely too. Highly recommend this company if you want a great all round experience. Wetsuits, booties, all the equipment is included, there are changing rooms, safe place to store your car keys. Whats not to like?

Amazing whitewater rafting fun! Our guides, Ashley and Eric, were great! They had funny jokes and entertained us while we safely journeyed through Browns Canyon. Ashley was even helpful about pointing out all of the sights to be seen while in between rapids. We will absolutely return for another trip. We loved it!

This was the most fun day I have had in awhile! As a new local, I had never experienced white water rafting and River Runners was recommended by a friend. John, our guide, was friendly and laid back and made everyone feel comfortable. The water was amazing- highly recommend taking the front seat if you want to get wet! I’ll be bringing all our out of town guests here!
