Wilderness Aware was the perfect rafting experience especially for being first timers! Prior to booking, they answered any of my questions I had. Upon arrival to the facility the staff was friendly and helpful. The trip was very organized. Safety was big and instructions were explained in detail. The rafting adventure itself was so much fun! All of the guides made for a great day! We had the joy of meeting Lucas, Ethan, Jessie, Dennis and Olivia. All friendly, funny, and enhanced the whole experience. Highly recommend any of them! Overall very satisfied with Wilderness Aware!

I was a little suspicious of this company because of all the very positive reviews but this really is a great outfit! I wanted a safe but exciting trip for my family and they didn't disappoint. We got a pretty comprehensive safety briefing before boarding the bus for a 5 minute trip to the launch site. After unloading the rafts we had another brief training session with the people in our raft and then started the trip down to the river. I had only been rafting once before but we had great instruction and I quickly realized our guide (Skelly) really knew what he was doing. It was a very scenic ride with some exciting rapids on the way down. Our guide really made me feel like we were in good hands so I was very excited going into what I saw as the more challenging parts of the trip. He even let us guide ourselves during one part towards the end and we did pretty well threading the needle between two rocks. Overall my family thought this was a great highlight of our trip to Salida. Some advice, I rented booties which were worth it as well as a splash jacket which I initially found to be very warm at first since it doesn't breathe but was good when we started getting really wet. I probably could have gotten along OK without the splash jacket. There was a kid of about 10 year old in front of me in our raft who almost fell in twice. He never did fall in but I heard that someone from another raft did fall in so pay attention to the safety briefing!
