I did the full-day Browns Canyon trip for my first time whitewater rafting. I was pretty nervous, but the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff at WA really put me at ease. The guides (Justin and Brent) were experienced, and the safety training addressed my concerns. Once on the water, we had a beautiful morning and an exciting afternoon, featuring a surprise hailstorm! Our boat guide Brent stayed calm, positive, and encouraging, making sure that everyone was okay and having a good time. Throughout the day, our rafts passed many, many others on the shore because our guides were able to figure out how to handle the low-water rapids. I would recommend WA over other companies because of this--other rafters were stuck on the shore while we cruised by!

Connor was our guide and he was both safe and funny! My family, including my 8 year-old grandson, all had a blast! We also felt well instructed by Connor and Brett before we left for our trip. The staff who booked our trip were professional, informative and courteous. We are interested in doing an all-adult trip with family and friends (perhaps overnight). We are considering returning from Oklahoma for a weekend before summer is over! Very fun time and not overly priced!

I was in CO in July 2018 to attend the 50th birthday party of a friend. I booked a white water rafting trip (the Narrows in the morning and Browns Canyon in the afternoon) on Wilderness Aware Rafting. It was sunny and 85 degrees on the river (the water was 52!), so I didn't wear a wetsuit. I didn't need one. The cool water splashing on me felt good on the warm day. At no time did I feel cold. I was supposed to go with a friend who got sick (strep through) and couldn't make it. The Wilderness Aware staff was very understanding and agreed to refund the prepaid fee. THANK YOU! It was a GLORIOUS day of fun. While the water level of the river was very LOW (500cfs) due to the snow drought this past winter and it was "technical" rafting kind of day (left turn, right turn, back paddle, ahead hard, ....), the guides (Mel - A tall drink of cool water - and Lucas) were great. I had two very different groups. In the a.m. it was a young church group doing mission work but having a day of fun. In the p.m., it was a series of couples young and old all who were friendly. Wilderness Aware was very organized and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my day with them rafting the Arkansas and will definitely return for more. (I've rafted rivers in ME and Canada before.). I am very happy to recommend Wilderness Aware and its staff of knowledgeable, enthusiastic people. Thanks for a great day! -- IRA
