Very disappointed on this visit compared to our previous. Although the rides on offer here are great and definitely the best in Florida for thrill seekers, most of them were closed or broken down. This was the theme for the day as a whole, everywhere we went just seemed to be a bit rundown and the animals didn't seem to be as active as you would hope. The only saving grace would be the safari ride where you have the chance to feed the giraffes. I would recommend this to anyone going as the guide was extremely informative and we had a good 15-20 minutes feeding and petting the giraffes and learning lots about them

We returned to the park today from last visiting last summer. We were hoping to see more updates and better maintenance. It appears that they are painting parts of sidewalks? Not sure.... we have always loved BG and do many wonderful memories of bringing our children here over the years. Our children are now adults and out of the house. We were hoping to share BG with our grandson but Iā€™m still unsure about doing so. I noticed a lot of maintenance that is still lacking and my concern is safety for my grandson. The park is $109 before tax. We had the full day dining pass. The smoked brisket and bbq chicken were good but most of everything else was really lacking. The orange chicken (Chinese food) tasted like what cat food smells like. Yuk!!! There werenā€™t many animals out today. We only seen two orangutans, one gorilla, three elephants and a handful of other animals. Bygone seems to be the days that I remember our family loving this park. It still looks worn out and missing a lot. Would we pay full price and all day dining again? Not at these prices. Sorry BG. Please bring back the BG quality that you used to have!

It is a nice distraction in a city with very little to do. For teens there are plenty of crazy rides. For the younger ones a nice mini zoo. As anything outdoors in Florida, you need to do it between October and March, any other time and humidity, heat and afternoon monsoons will make the day miserable. The safari that allows you to feed a giraffe is very expensive. Smoking sections throughout the park are reminders that you are in the South. On the other hand, there is an effort to bring the park into the 21st century, service is surprisingly good for FL standards, animal shows have been eliminated, and there is constant mention of conservation;but no mention of climate change; most of visitors are local and it would be risky to offend them.
