The Butterfly Rainforest is so beautiful and peaceful. When we walked in the butterflies started swaying around us. There are a variety of different butterflies and birds in this small rainforest. Three young men stationed throughout and were more than happy to answer questions. The worst problem we had was getting them to land long enough to take pictures. When you leave you can go into the Museum of Natural History and then come back into the rainforest.

Loved all the butterflies and plants. Seemed to be overpriced especially since the History Museum is free. It was beautiful and the only interesting thing we found open in Gainesville.

This was an awesome experience. There is a section devoted to butterfly’s but there is so much more to offer here. There is information of sea creatures, geo digs in Gainesville, and the American Indian history. We visited during the coronavirus time. This did put a damper on the trip and affect the number of exhibits available. I did feel like they did there best to keep it educational and fun. They also have a lab that grows butterflies. The little cocoons hang in front of the mirror. My son was able to see a butterfly come out of his cocoon. Priceless!
