What an amazing raft trip! The water was fast, our guide Robert was amazing and kept us feeling safe but also lots of thrills and waves caught! Choose New Wave as your rafting provider and you will not be disappointed! They had everything we needed to be warm and safe on a thrilling trip.

This excursion was SO MUCH FUN!! We traveled to Alaska with another couple and booked several excursions but discovered we had a free afternoon so decided to give this a try. All of us are in our 50’s and none of us had ever done this type of activity before, and none of us were in great shape either. We were picked up at our hotel (Denali Bluffs) and were shuttled to the main office where they provided our wetsuit, helmet, and life jackets. Your wetsuit goes completely over your clothes and socks you are wearing so you don’t get wet. They give you old tennis shoes to wear over your neoprene socks (the socks are part of the wet suit) so you don’t have to get your own shoes wet. They have bins for you to store all of your belongings as you can’t really take anything with you… not even your phone. At first I was a little sad I didn’t have my phone with me to capture the experience and beautiful scenery, but they take photos of your raft at certain points which you can purchase afterwards for $55 (we got 12 photos). The photos are excellent - you can see one of them that I attached with this review. You can choose whether or not you want to paddle, but we all chose to paddle and it was great fun! We never felt unsafe, and our guide (Mike) was awesome. If you are considering giving this a try, I highly suggest booking this company!!

The Nenana is a great river for first time rafters! It's always fun to introduce a new group to rafting. While it can be tricky to take a phone with you, sometimes it's nice to not have it on you. That way you really get to enjoy the scenery and then you get to see the photos of everyone in the boat having fun! We're glad Mike took great care of you! Thanks for the awesome review!
