We booked this trip at the last minute and boy, are we glad we went. Canyonlands is achllanging park to navigate for those unfamiliar with it's layout and the areas we visited would have been tough to see without a tour. the NavTec folks were great from start to finish and we strongly recommend these folks.

We took 2 x half-day tours. One early morning in Canyonlands and one Sunset in Arches. Since NAVTEC is one of only 2 tour operators offering these kind of tours they take you in the back way and avoid the tarmac and long lines. We didn't see any other tour group for the first 2 hours of our trip. Water and snacks were provided and you were able to take unobstructed pictures of the best spots. Our tour guide in the morning was Charlotte who was excellent. Knowledgeable and excited about sharing the park with you. She even gave took us the long way back via long canyon. thank you Charlotte!!! The sunset tour of Arches was with Ben, who was also great. He loved going off-road and that's the best way to avoid the crowds. A hike to Tower Arch where we were the only people there. Finally an amazing sunset thanks to a fire in a neighboring county. If you do either or both of these tours you can't go wrong.

We spent Friday touring the Canyonlands in the morning and the Arches in the afternoon. Tony was the best driver, host and extremely knowledgable of the area. It was the closest thing to off roading and was a complete blast. We began with Tony pointing out the petroglyphs on the side of the rock formations and then moved onto balancing rock, Muscleman Arch, Colorado river bend, and the cliff where Thelma & Louis was filmed and other movie sites. Traveling with Tony in the Toyota 4 Runner was the right balance of a thrilling adventure. We were never frightened going up and up on steep mountains or traveling on what were not really roads of rock. We were never in large crowds and truly experience seeing the desert, fossils, arches and the true beauty of this area.
