The meetup location is 1720 Barton Springs Rd; there's no building, it’s the parking lot for food trucks. Then you learn to ride the Segway in the parking lot. The ride is very smooth and easy to learn within 5 minutes. Our tour guide Kelsie was nice and taught us how to ride. As we are riding through the streets, he would let us know (each Segway has a 2-way radio) if there were any sharp corners or narrow openings to get through. The landmarks we stopped to take a picture were Auditorium Shores, the Capitol Building (you get a 15-min break to go inside), the Willie Nelson statue, and the Pedestrian Bridge near Lamar Blvd. He gave a few facts like the RV Park, how many people were moving into Austin, Austin’s growing skyline, 2nd ST dining, the Capitol grounds in Austin is the biggest in the nation, and Angelina Eberly. He didn’t go over a ton of Austin history; I think a walking tour would have be better since you get to stop, absorb the information, ask questions, and burn some calories. THINGS TO FIX: There’s a $3.89/person fee which is unexplained in the receipt. Also do not do pre-paid tipping, they charge sales tax on the tip.

It sounds like you absorbed quite a lot of detailed information from your tour guide, that’s fantastic! Re: the $3.89 fee, that’s a fee charged by our online booking platform, Fareharbor, which we have no control over. If you should book one of our other tours in the future (or for other’s reference) that fee can be avoided by booking directly with us by calling 512-298-9781. Re: Pre-paid tips - they are never required and are always greatly appreciated, thank you. Trip Advisor does not allow for pre-paid tipping. Did you book through another platform? Even if you booked directly with us, we do not tax pre-paid tips. If you would like to give me a call, I’m happy to make an adjustment regardless. Thanks for the feedback.

Kelsey gave us a thorough lesson and practice time to ensure we knew how to safely use the Segway. We all had walkie talkies on our Segways so he could give us continual instructions, reminders and directions, as well as commentary on what we were passing, and we could hear very well. He provided cold water bottles and outstanding explanations when we stopped to experience each site. Kelsey's kindness and consideration to us and those we encountered was greatly appreciated.
