Overview
Discover the charming coastal town of Carmel and savor a series of tantalizing food tastings (which may include wine or a cocktail) on this 3-hour guided walking tour. Your passionate guide will share stories about the history, culture and architecture of Carmel as you stop at restaurants, stylish watering holes and food shops to meet business owners (when available) and sample different food items. You may visit places like a classic European Restaurant, a local tavern serving mixed fermentation brews and modern takes on classic dishes, purveyors of the freshest tortillas on the Monterey Peninsula, and a local producer of confections made from century-old recipes. In general, the tastings add up to an average lunch. Ideal for both tourists and Carmel residents, this tour is a leisurely and tasty way to learn more about this quaint town.

Sunset Cultural Center
This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

Brian Rodda was a great host, he was very energetic, knowledgeable and an overall great time. Just to mention a few of our favorite tour spots; We started at Anton and Michel, the wine and wild mushroom risotto was amazing. Also, Carmel Honey Co, taste testing was fun. Shout out to Russ and Gayle from Sacramento, we enjoyed your company on this tour. My husband and I will def recommend to everyone we know.

I do not like leaving negative reviews but we as a group were pretty dissapointed in our time. Advertised as a food and wine/drink tour, this was more of a free samples tour and unfortunanly do not reccomend. They started off strong with a small appetizer and wine pairing at Grazings (which I will say was delicious). We then walked to a honey store which gave us some sample dots of honey, a street hot dog and water bottle (corn on the cob for vegitarians), then to a nut store for some more free samples, a chocolate eclair, lastly chocolate store for free chocolate samples (there was even a sign out front advertising as such). It was not worth the price tag unfortunantly and was not a food/wine tour as advertised. There was one curated food and wine pairing. If the rest of the stops were like the first location we would have felt more like our money was well spent. Spend your money on a nice dinner somewhere and then walk around for some free samples. A hot dog/corn on the cob, appetizer, eclair and free samples is not worth the $100+ price tag.
