Sunset Cultural Center
This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.

We enjoyed all seven stops on our tour. Food and wine pairings were excellent. I wish there was a bit more food at some restaurants because it was so good. We returned to one of the restaurants (Luca) that evening for dinner and had a great meal. Bonnie, our guide, was knowledgeable about history of Carmel, attentive and kept our group organized and on schedule. This was our third time visiting Carmel and we still learned a lot about this beautiful town and its establishments. I was especially impressed with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting. It was very educational as I learned how to discern the difference between different kinds of oil and determine when the oil is fresh. At the end of tasting Bonnie served us ice cream, one small serving with olive oil and the other with balsamic vinegar, both with unique flavor and delicious. Highly recommend this tour to first time and repeat visitors.

We had a wonderful afternoon exploring downtown; the nooks, the crannies, and above all some wonderful tastes of Carmel. The group was small enough we could stop and ask a question or look at something interesting. Bonnie, our very local guide, did more than just drag around a group of people - she introduced us to her town.
