Our off-road and hiking tours are not recommended for people with conditions that will be aggravated by bumpy roads. We do our best to keep the bumps to a minimum but some roads are rugged and bumpy and you can expect some jostling.

What To Expect

Capitol Reef National Park

Join us for a drive through Capitol Reefs back country to a scenic paradise of desert landscapes in our luxury 4X4 vehicle through cathedrals, temples, buttes and hoodoos that will get you away from most all of the park’s visitors. We’ll ford the Fremont River and stop at the Bentonite Hills, walk around, take pictures, talk about the geology and history of the area, stop at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the solitude, visit the iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon, see geological oddities such as Glass Mountain and ancient lava flows. This trip has tons of photographic opportunities and is missed by most visitors to Capitol Reef due to its remote location and often times challenging roads. If you're looking for a Jeep tour of Capitol Reef give us a shot, we don't drive Jeep but have more comfortable luxury vehicle to accommodate larger groups, enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days or enclosed SUV with a heater for the chilly days! We do winter tours as well.

I initially booked an all day tour with Jason to see and photograph the main features of Cathedral Valley, as well as an additional half day for the supermoon over Temple of the sun. As my trip approached, I learned about the incredible Factory Butte area. It also became clear the the days I reserved would be rainy. After a lot of back and forth with Jason, he was able to combine both tours, including Factory Butte sights, into a 14 hour outing on another day with better weather. We hit all the places I wanted to see, and a few more that he suggested, which I never would have known about. Jason was a great companion - very knowledgable, friendly, and laid back. His willingness to be flexible and work with me to reschedule, and hang in there with me to make sure I got to these amazing sights made it all possible. If you're going to Capitol Reef, this is the way to do it. You can relax and know that you'll safely reach these remote and rugged destinations without the need for navigating unfamiliar terrain. This is a trip I'll never forget. Thanks so much Jason.

The Capitol Reef Cathedral Valley private tour with Waterpocket Adventure Company was amazing and so worth the cost. Jason was a phenomenal, friendly, and very knowledgeable guide of the area and Capitol Reef. Jason took us to areas that we never would have been able to see if we went on our own. He explained each and everything we saw and stopped at many locations so we could take pictures and ask questions. We are really glad we booked this tour not only because of being able to see a lot of extra places, but the Scenic Highway in Capitol Reef was closed the past six months for construction except for a short distance into the Park, and we would not have seen as much of this amazing Park if we didn't take the tour. He also gave us tips of what other things we could see on our own since we had the time to do that. I highly recommend Waterpocket Adventure Company. Thanks, Jason for making our trip to Capitol Reef so special.

Everything about this tour of Capitol Reef was amazing. This private tour was packed full of interesting facts about the park and unbelievable scenery. We were taken to parts of the park that we never would have seen if not on this tour. Well worth the money. And Jason was the best tour guide we could have asked for. Keep up the good work, Jason!
