This is not for beginners. The practice track is nothing at all like the true experience. The tour guides explain that the ride is difficult and assure you that there will be time to stop and reset before challenging sections of the track. However, there ended up being only two breaks for the entire two hour tour and no time to reset before hills. Our guide was also in a huge rush to get back on time so we were going way faster up the mountains than I was comfortable with. He also did not check behind him very often to make sure the group was keeping up. I ended up falling behind and then tipping the ATV off the mountain side. They do not warn you before hand that there are roughly two accidents a day (more on the weekends). They then charge you for rolling the ATV, a recovery fee for retrieving the ATV off of the mountain, and a fee for the damage without showing you what the damage looks like.

This was arguably the best (and most intense) part of our entire vacation! Big selection of ATV’s and they all ran good and the guides were awesome and knowledgeable, and communicated well when it was needed. A note of caution - this trail is not for the weak. Be prepared to cross some terrain that may make you feel uncomfortable, especially if you’ve never rode or driven an ATV before. The whole experience was awesome, just know what you’re getting into before you book! (They do provide a short training and a practice course prior to starting in on the trail)

Summary: Overall a very exciting and free experience that eases old riders back into the groove and provides new riders a place to get started. If you plan to ride the expert trails, balance and some physical fitness is nessecary as the bike will be kicked about as it goes over some of the rocky parts of the trail. Be prepared for the temperature and make sure to use common sense. Timeline from arrival to finish: Upon arriving, we were given gear, and (after a short wait) given instructions for the ATVs. We then rode out to a fairly basic training ground that provided hills and inclines for practice. Having roden before, this allowed me to warm up greatly. Proceeding on, we went through an intermediate level, and having done that, the riders were given the choice of doing the expert trail or just riding around the intermediate section. If you choose to do the expert section, you follow a guide up and down a long series of bumps and hills. Once this was done, we were told that we now had freedom to either go back and finish or just keep rising around. Having fun with the expert course a first time, I went back to Basecamp, drank some water, and then set out on a second run through everything. When I got back I had about 30 minutes left, but I was thoroughly tired out, so I called it a day getting the option of being sprayed by nice cool spring water and being given nice cold water.
