We booked the two hour guided tour for a Sunday morning -- myself, my twin sister and my 15 YO daughter. Our guide was PAUL and he was AWESOME! We had a full group (14 folks) from a few difference countries (US, CA, Chile) and varying ages. Paul's great energy and sense of humor kept us smiling and his knowledge about the area is legit and interesting. The park is very crowded and Paul was truly a leader in making sure we knew the rules of the road, proactively flagging where our exits would be to see certain sites, etc. We had time to snap photos and explore a few minutes at each place we saw and there's no way we would've covered this much ground on foot.
From an operations perspective of Unlimited Biking, the checkin was an s-show. We were there on time (15 minutes prior to start) and waited patiently with a ton of other folks waiting to find out where we needed to go. Once one person in our party (me) was given the ok to get in line to check in, I did that and waited patiently. I finally realized my name was being called by one of their team members (pushing our start time at this point, having waited in lines until then) and jumped the queue. Checked in, then had to get in another line for helmets and bikes. A not-so-patient group of others cut me and I waited some more, flailing to my fam to get their butts inside for gear. They had a number of HARD WORKING people hustling in that tiny shop but I felt like my niceness got me steamrolled lol. It was chaos, really. No clue how they can improve this, but definitely needs some process overhaul.
They also gave my 15 YO a kids bike, which I didn't even realize until we were rolling (she's as tall as me) which was not a great fit for her, but she's an even keeled awesome-face and it didn't bother her too much.
We loved the ride (especially back to the shop because again, PAUL IS AWESOME and let us ride back from the park --- on the way there, we all walked our bikes.)
If you are high anxiety or high stress with crowds, noise, feeling a bit rushed, this is not for you. My sister was not a fan of this experience lol, but was a trooper. For her, renting a bike on her own time/speed would've been preferred.
Totally worth the time and money to see this beautiful place, cannot say enough good things about Paul as our guide and the rest of the Unlimited Biking team was fantastic to deal with as well.
