The stop was chosen due to its proximity to Lennon's NYC home, The Dakota Apartments, which are just across Central Park West. There is a plaque embedded in one of the boulders along the pathway leading to the mosaic. It lists the 121 countries who endorse Strawberry Fields as a Garden of Peace.

My wife and I had a great experience in one of the pedicabs of this company. It wasn't in Central Park but we wanted to compliment the driver Abdullah. He gave us a ride back to our hotel after we saw a Broadway play. I accidentally gave him an extra $50 bill when I paid him and he swing around the block and returned it which was super nice and honest of him. Then we realized my wife had forgotten to return her hearing headset to the theater. Abdullah offered to take it back to the theater and return it which he did. Abdullah is the sort of person that makes us want to come back to NYC because of all the nice people we meet in addition to all the fun things to do. By the way the play we saw, Come From Away, is a wonderful uplifting musical so we highly recommend it!
