Very nice, professional dive. Beautiful locations, lots of sea life. I was very impressed, and would dive with this charter again

We've gone diving with Dive Oahu 4-5 times and generally have a good time. Jerry the boat captain is a lot of fun and the guides are usually solid. We are DO club members and it's a good deal financially. The equipment is always in good condition and the boat is nice. We've gone with them to Sea Tiger, YO/San Pedro (X2), Ewa Pinnacles, and the LCU. Unfortunately, last time we went our guide was a bit overbearing. She had a firm policy that all divers would end the dive when one got low on air. We had some air-hungry divers in our group and the guide forced everyone to end the first dive at 30 minutes. I still had over 1000 psi left. This happened again on the second dive as so I stayed down with a different group at the bottom of the buoy while the rest of the group ascended. I still had 1200 PSI left. I suddenly felt a jolt on my BCD as our dive guide grabbed my tank and started to pull me to the surface. The air in my BCD expanded and I started to quickly ascend in the water column. My computer was alarming due to the ascent rate. I managed to break free of the guide and dump my extra air. I get that I wasn't following her rules but my safety is my own responsibility and no one else's. I definitely didn't need the extra assistance in developing a pulmonary overexpansion injury or AGE. I would probably recommend having your guides keep their hands off people outside of an emergency or a need for assistance. She probably didn't mean to pull me up so quickly but she did, and as the air expanded the problem compounded. I believe the guide's name was Alexandra but I'm not 100% sure. Overall I would still recommend Dive Oahu, I think this experience was a departure from the norm, but I probably won't renew my club membership.

Great dive masters, vessel, and equipment. I was looking forward to the wreck dive as it would’ve been my first experience doing so. The website had a list of multiple wreck sites in the area which was the main reason I selected Dive Oahu. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the wrecks. Weather wasn’t optimal at the targeted wreck site which was understandable, but no attempts were made to find an alternate site and we ended up doing a shallow reef dive. The shallow reef dive felt a bit rushed and was cut short. The first dive was fun which at least made the experience ok. I would’ve rated the experience higher had we made it to a wreck, or at least found a more suitable site for certified divers that signed up for a more challenging experience.
