Charleston Ghost & Graveyard Tour
Meet your guide at a central meeting point, then proceed to the graveyard where you will hear about Charleston's spirits and gruesome tales such as: • The ghost of Sue Howard, a grieving mother who prays at the grave of her dead child from the spirit world. Your guide has the picture to prove it. • The Great Nullifier, famous rebel warrior John C. Calhoun. Find out why he and his wife still dance in the street every year, for over 150 years running. • Tales of being buried alive. Doctors in old Charleston didn't take chances with contagious diseases. Fall unconscious in a hospital, wake up in a grave.Learn why the terms saved by the bell and graveyard shift were coined. You will be glad you weren't around when they were. While other walking tours are looking in through the iron fence, you'll be on the inside. Learn the history of Charleston's haunted graveyards and hear tales about famous individuals who found their final resting place in the Holy City. Don't forget your flash cameras. You never know what phantom images you can capture...

We went on the evening 1.5 hr walking ghost tour, departing promptly at 7:30p. We were so fortunate to have Keith as our tour guide - WOW!!! What a PHENOMENAL story teller!! He was so knowledgeable about the history of Charleston, telling us stories not only about the sites which we visited, but also pointed out additional spots and tales he thought were interesting along the way. He was friendly, inviting, knowledgeable, and very personable. His greatest skill is definitely being a storyteller - changing his tone and pitch and pace to really reel the listener into the story - and who doesn’t love a great ghost story?! We made it to one of the sites - the circular church and graveyard - as it was getting dark, which was the PERFECT timing to finish the tour with spooky tales at a graveyard. We (unfortunately!) didn’t see any ghosts (and Keith admitted he has never seen any either) but there’s still a chance to experience some paranormal activity at The Mills House where we are staying for the duration for our trip. It’s apparently one of the most haunted places in Charleston (but stay on the first 5 floors - Keith will tell you why! 😉). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour to anyone, young and old (the ghost stories are fun, nothing scary or gory). Wear comfortable shoes as you walk about a mile or so, often on uneven cobblestone. Solid 10 stars 🌟!!!

Not the best guide, very boring and too many other groups in same space. I have been on other ghost tours in Charleston and have found them to be interesting and fun but unfortunately our group of 6 felt let down by the quality and information that was given.

Liked the mix of ghost and graveyard stories combined with history and some architectural facts. And that we got to go in the actual cemeteries, they’re so old and fascinating and Bulldog is the only tour company allowed inside, we walked by other tours that were standing outside the fences. When I asked at our hotel who gives the best tours they recommended Bulldog. Plus we learned the owner also gives a lot back to the community. Philadelphia Alley was on my to-do list while here so it was a nice surprise to have it be one of the stops on the tour. Took my two college-aged daughters and they both really liked it. Our tour guide Dave is a Charleston native and was a great guide.
