Charleston Ghost & Graveyard Tour
Meet your guide at a central meeting point, then proceed to the graveyard where you will hear about Charleston's spirits and gruesome tales such as: • The ghost of Sue Howard, a grieving mother who prays at the grave of her dead child from the spirit world. Your guide has the picture to prove it. • The Great Nullifier, famous rebel warrior John C. Calhoun. Find out why he and his wife still dance in the street every year, for over 150 years running. • Tales of being buried alive. Doctors in old Charleston didn't take chances with contagious diseases. Fall unconscious in a hospital, wake up in a grave.Learn why the terms saved by the bell and graveyard shift were coined. You will be glad you weren't around when they were. While other walking tours are looking in through the iron fence, you'll be on the inside. Learn the history of Charleston's haunted graveyards and hear tales about famous individuals who found their final resting place in the Holy City. Don't forget your flash cameras. You never know what phantom images you can capture...

We thought this would be more of a tongue in cheek type thing with some laughs. What makes it very skip-able is they take it way too seriously and try to convince you how real ghosts are in Charleston. We walked for 90 minutes, heard 4 stories and done. Skip it.

Greg W, We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet expectations. When it comes to ghost tours, there are many who do not know what to expect. There are some who take the tour expecting to see spirits along the way or at least will have a paranormal experience. Clearly, both of these things are out of our control. In addition, there are people who take the tours that are full on believers in the supernatural, many who are skeptics, and of course those who are not believers at all. The latter are typically interested in hearing some history as well as some creepy tales. Regardless, our guides take their job seriously, as we are sure you take your job seriously. We are not in the business of turning people into believers. We are storytellers, not "tongue in cheek" comedians. Our goal is to entertain and terrify by sharing in the dark stories of the Holy City. Anybody interested in a comedy hour, our tours are not for you.

Our family of four (40-something mom/50-something dad/12 & 13 y.o. boys) had a great time on this tour! We took the tour on our first night in Charleston and were so happy we did. Our tour guide was Faith. She was very knowledgeable and engaging, and tells a great story...while none of us was truly scared, the stories were sufficiently creepy and completely interesting. Faith took us to a number of different stops and provided both local and general history. She let us know that the graveyards and cemeteries of Charleston are sacred to the city and showed a lot of respect for the deceased both in telling their stories and helping us to understand and appreciate what life may have been like way back when. At the end of our trip (we spent a few day in Charleston, a few days in Savannah, and Hilton Head) we asked the boys what their favorite vacation activities were and this Ghost Tour was in the top three for both of them (me too!!). It's something very different than anything offered in our neck of the woods, and a real treat! Also, I found the tour to be very fairly priced. Thank you for the memories Faith!!
