Charleston Ghost & Graveyard Tour
Meet your guide at a central meeting point, then proceed to the graveyard where you will hear about Charleston's spirits and gruesome tales such as: • The ghost of Sue Howard, a grieving mother who prays at the grave of her dead child from the spirit world. Your guide has the picture to prove it. • The Great Nullifier, famous rebel warrior John C. Calhoun. Find out why he and his wife still dance in the street every year, for over 150 years running. • Tales of being buried alive. Doctors in old Charleston didn't take chances with contagious diseases. Fall unconscious in a hospital, wake up in a grave.Learn why the terms saved by the bell and graveyard shift were coined. You will be glad you weren't around when they were. While other walking tours are looking in through the iron fence, you'll be on the inside. Learn the history of Charleston's haunted graveyards and hear tales about famous individuals who found their final resting place in the Holy City. Don't forget your flash cameras. You never know what phantom images you can capture...

Our guy did a great job. Very knowledgeable and well-versed in the history of Charleston. Fun to listen to - funny and seemed really into the history.

Best experience ever. If you visit Charleston you have to go on a ghost tour. Our tour guide was awesome.

This tour was a complete joke. Firstly the very young tour guide had lived in Charleston less than a year and his immature delivery (the word “like” was used 5 times per sentence) of the stories offered absolutely no credibility. The stories were badly delivered from an even more poorly concocted script. Secondly, since this is an organized tour some of the sites mentioned cannot be visited to reduce disruption to local residents. We would have been better picking up the free local building guide and we would have been able to walk right up to, and visit the buildings described in the stories. My partner and I lasted approximately 25 minutes into the scheduled 90 minute tour before realizing that the best we could do was salvage the 65 minutes we would no longer waste of the precious time we had in Charleston. We dropped off the tour. Hiring out of town students to sell Charleston folklore this way might seem like good business for Bull Dog Tours - It’s frankly nothing short of a tourist trap. Spend your money elsewhere enjoying Charleston’s culture.

Dear SC S, we have reflected upon your comments with a contrite heart. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. Your guide is a young man whom we have trained with great care. He shows much promise and we will continue to work with him, to make his tour better and more pleasing in your sight. We believe in him and we do not think our hopes are misplaced. Panning the young is not new. Every generation tends to hold the next in disdain, and yet they are our future. We respect your opinion and your right to express it, but he is ours and we are proud to have him on our team. You experienced less than a third of his tour. We would like to think that your impression may have changed had you at least followed him into the graveyard, which is the highlight of the tour. We encourage you to contact Randy Johnson, our Guide Manager, at [email protected]. We will gladly refund your tickets but we cannot identify your real name from your moniker. We try very hard to deliver top notch tours and we believe our reviews substantiate that fact. No one likes being called a tourist trap and it cuts us to the bone. You have a great day, Mr. SC S, and you take care. We greatly appreciate your taking the time to let us know how you feel. We learn from it and move on. Regards.
