Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

Our guide Don was great! Hour and a half tour full of history and ghostly info. We loved it, even the teenagers. Highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

My friends and I love ghost tours. We have experienced several in different states. Last year, we had an incredible experience in Savannah, GA with Ghost City Tours. But that experience was NOTHING compared to last night’s tour in Charleston, SC with our guide Bert Burch. Such an intriguing and well spoken individual. He led us through the city and told the story of each haunting with such knowledge. Great experience!

I took this tour on March 12th with a group of friends and I just want to say that Bert was the best tour guide! I was extremely unsure about whether or not I wanted to take the tour but Bert made every single moment enjoyable. He is extremely knowledgeable on all the sites and the history behind them and truly put on a wonderful tour. Highly reccomend taking a tour with him to anyone who’s interested in ghosts or history.
